LONGTV REDEFINES BROADCASTING IN MALAYSIA
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA 29TH MARCH – Malaysians will soon be able to get their hands on the much anticipated, legal internet TV service provider and digital television platform, LONGTV, which would feature international channels and media.
With a targeted launch in Q2 2018, LONGTV has obtained its broadcast license from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), to be the legal internet television streaming provider and digital television platform for Malaysians to gain access to international channels and a variety of media content, including news, entertainment, education, music and games, as well as an array of media features.
The launch of LONGTV would come in time for the government’s initiative for analog switch-off (ASO), targeted in June 2018, where a full transition to digital terrestrial television (DTT) will be implemented after analog broadcast stops completely.
Longvision Media, the principal content host of this breakthrough broadcasting system, is backed with more than 10 years of digital television, content systems and broadcasting experience.
Chief Operating Officer of Longvision Media Sdn Bhd Mr. C H Low said, “LONGTV is the most advanced, legal content streaming provider in Malaysia, providing Malaysians with access to prime international media and content at affordable rates.”
By integrating the contents of global programmes and various forms of media resources, including Digital TV, IPTV, OTT and mobile internet, LONGTV provides users with all-media video services, including access to international channels legally. LONGTV would also be able to provide brand owners with a high-quality and efficient delivery platform.
Longvision Media Sdn Bhd has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Eternal Asia, RedOne and MCalls, as official distributors of LONGTV in Malaysia.
